  • Dorset Day 1 & 2

Because there are just an incredible amount of pictures from our Dorset trip, ive decided to break it into two parts!Coming up are pictures from day 1 and day 2 of our trip.

Our summer holiday took place at the South Coast, namely Dorset. Dorset is famous for a number of holiday resorts and  we decided to stay at Poole which is a pretty large coastal town and seaport of Dorset. Poole is famous for its award winning beaches and also its rich history. Its a pretty seaside town that has its balance of quaint little cottages and gorgeous waterfront properties!

    Day 1

welcome to rockley caravan park, our home for 5 days!

our home and mode of transportations

    checking in

    drumroll* presenting caravan number 13!!

the living room and 1/4 of our luggages.
the caravan was surprisingly quite spacious inside.it was my first time staying in a caravan and I always had the impression from movies that caravans would be all cramped up and uncomfortable. but the ones at rockley park were really quite nice!fully furnished and spacious living room with a tv,fully equipped kitchen, bedrooms and toilet.very nice

    beachbags

    the kitchen

    one of the bedrooms

we arrived at poole some time in the afternoon and though half our day was gone,we could not wait but check out the beach nearby our resort!it was a beautiful sunny day!

this picture is classic haha!us girls with our hats prancing around in the sun and jyymei under her umbrella  with her bodylanguage which seems to read 'omg the sun is too hot!get back under here girls!!'we our puteri lilin!

    testing out the waters.
    oo freezing cold!

    beautiful

after having a good game of volleyball, beach soccer and playing around in the sea,we headed back home and got ready for dinner.this is me behind our caravan right before we left for dinner!here you can see some of the other caravans!

in front of the restaurant.we stopped by to take a couple of pictures because the sun was about to set and it was simply beautiful.

later before heading back home we stopped by to get some groceres for our bbq the next day

jyymei with the chrysanthemum tea leaves she brought for the trip!

    emmy with er the bananas!

and me with all the sugar we stole from burger king earlier on for our tea!

    Day 2

On the second day we drove to bournemouth town and stopped by the citycentre where we went a bit mad at h&m( 3 pounds 3  pounds!)Everyone needed to buy either this or that for the beach so we spent a great deal of time at h & m.

    walking to our car

    then we hit bournemouth seafront!

the beautiful beach!it was packed with people but our joy was shortlived because it started to rain a bit

watching the rain from inside the pier
thank god it only rained a bit and that was the only time it rained. over the next few days we had fab weather!

after that we did a bit of sightseeing at Corfe castle which is set on the purbeck hills. Corfe castle is under the National Trust and has a number of interesting stories behind it. '
Legend has it that Corfe was the scene of Edward the Martyr's murder in 978. The teenage king is said to have been on a hunting trip in Purbeck, when he was set upon and stabbed. The order for his death supposedly came from Elfryda, his wicked step-mother, so that her son Ethelred could succeed to the throne.'

thats us in the chilly after rain weather and the beautiful corfe castle behind us

    nearby horses

corfe castle town where we stopped for some lovely English afternoon scones and tea

oo and the corfe castle town has a bit of a history with Enid Blyton.Apparently she spent some of her time in this town and the castles featured in Kirrin Island of her Famous Five series were said to be based on Corfe Castle!

town houses with doors for short people like me.save cost

with cute garden gnomes and decorations

probably one of the best mottos in life!

after that the sun came out and we rejoiced!we headed over to lulworth to catch sight of the infamous Jurassic Coast UNESCO World Heritage Site

Breathtaking view of the Jurassic coast from above.Isnt it so beautiful?

    Durdle door

this picture of our flipflops ties in nicely with the previous picture lol!
when we were just about to begin our hike walk down, we met lots of ppl in proper footwear and i was thinking geez what inappropriate footwear for the beach! then we also met this elderly man and his wife panting and huffing when they reached the top.admist trying to catch their breath, they commented on our footwear and we  haha-ed and continued down.lets just say it wasnt an easy walk down!

    group picture!

leading the way HAHA!here we go with our flipflops!!

    walking down

first ( and thankfully only) leg injury along the way

it was a longggggg walk down but with every step we took, we were closer to the crystal  blue waters yay!

we made it!the place was even more beautiful at the bottom

    in front of durdle door!

    pebbles pebbles and more pebbles

after our walk back up.phew it was exhausting after the previous walk down and playing around at the beach!

later we headed back to our caravan to get ready for our bbq dinner

    some of the food

    helping out in the kitchen

    part of the bbq crew!
we had so much yummy food that night.pasta, salmon, sausages, ribs, potatoes, corn etc

at midnight we surprised shereen with a birthday cake as it was her birthday the next day!
our darling shereen turned 25 but rest assured shes very much a 5 year old at heart
and we celebrated lydia's birthday too as she will be turning 23 some time later this month!
    happy birthday girls!

    lydia with her birthday pres

shereen with her thomas sabo bracelet!

phew it was so stressful picking out charms for this little princess.i love pink but shereen adores pink and it was tough picking out charms that suited her!bt in the end we settled for the letter S,a silver heart,a pink butterfly, pink diamante lipstick and a pink limo

a toast to the birthday girls!

And thats a brief update on how day 1 and day 2 went.
    Coming up,day 3 and 4!

  • summer loving

    Hello everyone!
I dont know why i feel like ive got my hands full all throughout this week and havent had time to properly update. Thus, this is going to be quite a lengthy but rushed update im afraid!

This week was well, truly  an eventful one. Good and bad.Went for a play and had a nice day trip with friends on tuesday.
Thursday was just a shitty day for me.Met a group of rowdy (cough female) local  teens in the park when i was jogging and things got ugly. Rascist pricks everywhere. Then the  world was shocked upon receiving news of the death of who can be considered after elvis, the most memorable singing legend of all time. Not to mention news of farrah fawcett's passing on as well.

But Its just really shocking that he's gone.I think everyone grew up with micheal jackson's songs and it seems so surreal that he's no longer here.He was only 50 years old. Despite all the bad press that he received about the molestation charges and later the incident where he dangled his kid from the balcony, i mean im sure everyone agrees that he was a really great performer. And what is even more sad is that his concerts in London were suppose to take place next month and now,hes no longer here. His diehard fans that were crying when they couldnt get the tickets must be almost suicidal right now.

Anyway on a happier note, some pictures from our trip to legoland in windsor!

we took the train to windor and then boarded the direct bus that took us to legoland!

    our stop:legolandddddddddd!!yayyy!
lol.no we werent really like that in the bus.it was too early in the morning and everyone was half asleep when we reached legoland lol!

but everything changed once we got the tickets and started being children for a day
myself and fellow legoland-ers; shereen, aric, renee, jyymei, jyyyee, choonkeet and emmy!

as you will soon realise, everything, and i mean EVERYTHING in legoland is made out of tiny little pieces of lego. its basically a themepark centered around a lego theme so its really quite interesting.more of a girl's place if you ask me!here we are taking a family shot with a lego family!

imagination centre, cant really remember what we did there lol.

    cute lego girl

in front of the president mountain
where else can you find george washington, thomas jefferson, theodore roosevelt and abraham lincoln in tiny pieces of grey lego!

this was one of my fav places in legoland; miniland!
i read online that nearly 40 million pieces were used to recreate scenes from europe,us etc.
everything was just so pretty and so real.

    london landmark : big ben

whatsthatonthe left, london eye & big ben!

    trafalgar square

they've even got empire casino in lego!

a cute little white limo.brought back fond memories of our limo ride last dec

    scotland

    church wedding procession

    holland

    stadium goers

a scene from romeo & juliet

with a cute lego mascot and an excited kid that couldnt wait till our photo was taken

after legoland we stopped by windsor castle ( haha as if we had planned to meet the Queen herself for afternoon tea or something lol!) and then headed back to home sweet london.

Yesterday night we had an early birthday celebration for shereen and lydia.

    outside ikkyusan,chinatown

     birthday girls
happy early birthday shereen & lydia!

    one of the group

after that we headed to the gorgeous jewel bar over at picadilly

a toast to friendship, life and all the happy things in life
jyymei and jen,we toasted for the both of you in absence!

housemates and shereen, the diva of the night!

    myself,shereen & emmy

love the setting of the entire area. Gorgeous chandeliars everywhere and jewel encrusted pillars

    our table

    me,karen,shereen,emmy & jaclyn

    calvin,stephanie,me & emmy

haha this was shereen by the end of the night after one too many drinks.all lovey dovey.
very funny, very entertaning and very sweeeetttt!
I love you too babe and hope you enjoyed your pre-birthday celebration!xx

Today i worked as a student ambassador for city uni's open day.It was a nice experience. Quite funny seeing how anxious all the parents were in comparison to the really laid back kids.Reminded me a lot the past hehe.

Next week we are off to bournemouth for a couple of days to spend some time at the beach. Whats really funny is that the met office released a statement on fri saying that there will most prob be a heatwave over here and we initially planour trip to the beach to get a'bit of sun' haha! But things could only get worse for me. my 'aunt' decided to visit me today.NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Hmm,we'll just have to make the most out of the trip then!

Tomorrow will be a busy busy day for me.Lunch and catchup session with s.sang (finally!),church then i'll have to start packing like crazy for the trip at night.
    Bon voyage!
Pray the heatwave isnt overwhelming and that we return home with a nice golden tinge but not burnt in anyway hmm.

    Have a good week everyone!

    xx

  • phantom of the opera

Am trying desperately to get some sleep by im still wide awake at this hour

Short update that will hopefully make me very sleepy after all the typing and hopefully, help me ease my way into dreamland!

Watched phantom of the opera at Her Majesty's Theatre earlier on in the night. It was just so very good. I loved everything about the musical and i can easily say that it is the NICEST musical ive ever watched. Better than everything and anything ive watched so far. Love the cast, the singing, the songs, the set and everything about it.Maybe because we studied it for lit back in highschool that makes it so much easier for us to connect to the characters but its just something about watching it live that really tugs at the heartstrings. There was this part towards the end after christine kisses the phantom just so he will not harm raoul  and the phantom finally lets her go off with raoul and i could so sense how much he is sacrificing his happiness for hers. Then they played my fav love song all over again and its just all the her sacrificng for raoul and the phantom sacrificing for her thing that made me realise, how beautiful and touching the whole story actually is. And i teared up right there and then. Beautiful.

If you are in London, you absolutely must watch it.Trust me when i say you will never regret it. Worth every single pound paid.

After that, we girls adjourned for ice cream at leicester square and sat down fr a really good heart to heart talk about sigh love and the troubles that come along with it. Must have been something about the musical that triggered the emo lovey dovey button within us haha! But it was really nice and i enjoyed it!Pictures from tonight, thanks emmy!

    our tickets

    very excited and enthusiastic girlfriends!

  • details in the fabric

    Calm down, deep breaths
    And get yourself dressed
    Instead of running around
    And pulling on your threads
    And breaking yourself up

If it's a broken part, replace it
If it's a broken arm, then brace it
If it's a broken heart, then face it

And hold your own, know your name
    And go your own way.
Hold your own, know your name
    And go your own way.
    And everything, will be fine.

    Everything, will be fine
Everything, in no time at all
    Hearts will hold
